Health care workers, patients and experts have their say on the impact of the medical isotope shortage

Health care workers, patients and experts have their say on the impact of the medical isotope shortage

Click on the above link for the full update on this shut down of the Chalk River nuclear medicine reactor. I was not aware until this story that CANADA has an enormous impact in the exportation of medical isotopes. Unfortunately there is no explanation as to WHY? (maintenance? sick workers? finances?) Ummmmm... what are medical isotopes? In a nutshell they are "safe radioactive substance used to diagnose ilness". They essentially help pick out the small details of our organs and vessels that doctors cannot pick-up just looking at an image alone. The main isotope is called Tc-99 it can be used for bone, brain scans etc - often times for cancer patients.

Is it just me or whenever people think words like "nuclear" and "radiation" a picture like this comes to mind...

H1N1 - Conspiracy theory, extreme rare side effects, vitamin D the flu-killer?

Below are a compilation of three videos I found on YouTUBE. I lent an ear to conspiracy theory as a possible perspective, took a peak at the abnormal rare side effect of the flu vaccine, but I did not finish the Vitamin D killer.. he bore me and his point is impractical. If we could all move to tropical climates we need not fear the flu! Sounds great, but ain't gonna happen.

I don't let these one-sided videos steer my decision of the vaccine. Much more to come on this topic

WeLCoMe To HeaLTHY

This blog aims to address your concerns related to health, healthcare, and pharmaceuticals in CANADA in the most user-friendly way. It will be a compilation breaking news, health information, and my own opinions and ideas both from a public consumer and a healthcare professional perspective. Whether we like it or not health is THE #1 factor in affecting our quality of life. I'll try my damn HARDEST to make it fun, informative and hopefully thought provoking.
Questions, information, ideas such as....
Should I or my loved one get the H1N1 vaccine? Mental illnesses are untreated as unnoticed because we view them as unattractive and frightening - we fear the unknown. *ALL BABY CRIBS MADE BY _______ MANUFACTURED FROM 1996-2005 ARE BEING RECALLED* Why does health insurance only cover certain prescription drugs? Where can I find a family doctor? Where does all the governments health care expenditures go? Why doesn't the government hire more nurses? What are the names of the top pharmaceutical companies? How will the government support me when I age? PREVENTABLE diseases such as diabetes II, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol cost the the public millions and dollars due to damage control and "patching up" their victims *NEW DRUG _____ HAS BEEN GETTING REPORT OF ADVERSE SIDE EFFECTS OF SKIN RASHES* .... oh, and that's just the tip of the iceberg!
